Here's the highlight of my week:

Yeah...open source at its best. Hannah Montana Linux, who would have thought. I'm thinking of making this the distro of choice at our call center. Yeah, anybody who asks about Linux will get this and then decide if Linux is for them or not....What more could you ask for; Ubuntu, KDE, and Hannah!! It's like....The Best of Both Worlds!!!

I changed the site back to the darker color. Since the site is mainly pictures and screenshots it's much easier to view the images on a darker background (at least for me it is). I'll probably tweak it a little more over the next week or so, but I'll try to leave it close to this for a little while. The white one that I just replaced this with (replaced the css file pretty much) will get its own subdomain in a bit. I also redid the lineage 2 page at lineage2.ig-wilson.com and made it look a bit nicer. Other than this little bit of website reworking not much new going on here. I might be moving from Heyburn to a house closer to work in Twin Falls so I dont have a 76 mi roundtrip drive to/from work 4 times a week...save in gas money and I can go home for lunch!

All you atheists and Mormon haters read no further..although I know that since I said that it's guaranteed you will. I designed a set of pages to track the Duty to God award and set it up so that anybody can use it if you have a leader who is in charge of tracking completed requirements. dutytogod.ig-wilson.com is where to go for this. Hit the “Sign Up” link to created an account and request access. Once I grant access you can add the names of the youth in your ward/branch and view/update requirements. If you see anything in there that is incorrect or something that is missing please let me know.

This is a test of the Emergency Broadcast System. The broadcasters of your area in voluntary cooperation with the FCC and federal, state and local authorities have developed this system to keep you informed in the event of an emergency. If this had been an actual emergency, you would have been instructed to tune to one of the broadcast stations in your area. This concludes this test of the Emergency Broadcast System.

So I went crazy on the certifications but have decided to stop for now (time I still have but money is running low). I was able to finish the MCSA and have taken the 2 tests for the A+, so I can't call myself Professor or Doctor, but I can call myself - MCP, MCDST, MCTS, MCITP, MCSA, A+, Linux+, and DCSE. Not that it matters all that much anyway since Dell isn't going to pay me any more for having these. I was just doing them just to do them anyway. I was originally just going to stop at the MCDST but I noticed that there was just one more test for the MCTS and the MCITP so I took it. Once that was done I noticed there were only two more for the MCSA so I figured, what the heck, installed server 2k3 on a box, played with it a little and went for it. Passed all tests the first time and didn’t really have any moments where I thought I might fail any. I'm not sure what to do now but will stop with the certs and focus on something different for a while.

Yay!! Unless something changes in the next few days (like maybe Vogons destroy the planet for their hyperspace bypass), then I should be officially an MCSA (Microsoft Certified System Administrator). What does this mean for me? Not much since I still work at Dell, make the same amount of money, and do linux support. What does this means for you? Probably even less than it does for me, unless you are looking for an MCSA certified linux tech to take huge sums of money from your payroll, then I'm your guy! Apart from this highly eventful occasion not much else is going on.

Since I know everybody is eagerly awaiting any news of me and your lives just aren't the same without constant reminders that I am here, here is the new thing for this past few days. I passed another MS exam yesterday so I am now officially an MCITP which basically means I can go from being a fry cook and move over to making burgers. Yay, all that fry grease was making my skin melt off (much to the chagrin of the customers who would get body parts in their food). A little extra DNA is a good thing right? Anyway I also posted a few more L2 pictures for your viewing pleasure. Team Jesus is officially defunct and we all went to RDogs so I need to make a new signature image for the forums. That will give me something to do for a while since I have no idea what RDogs is supposed to mean. If you have no idea what I am talking about with RDogs and Team Jesus, that is ok...they are basically effects of a disease called Lineage 2. Symptoms include obesity, pallid skin, bug-eyes, carpal tunnel, and an aversion to any social situations that involve direct human contact. Extreme cases involve role playing, cosplay and other disgusting behavior. Please avoid these people at all costs for your own sake, it's not worth trying to cure them. Thank you.

Ok so yesterday one of my enlightened coworkers informed us other linux people that "Debian is compatible with the Dewey Decimal System". While my first gut reaction (it's my normal reaction to anything anybody says by the way) was to laugh hysterically until the contents of my bladder completely drained onto the nice carpets here at Dell, I took the safe road and just looked at him like he had taken the train to crazy land. He didnt seem to notice. But then I thought, since he is enlightened after all, maybe my mind just can't comprehend the greatness of of either Debian or the Dewey Decimal System. I tried to google it but apparently everybody else on the internet is a loser like me because I didnt find anything to help me out. I'm sending this out as a general alarm to any Debian experts out there to please help me out because I am at a loss on this one. My google searches on this topic eventually degenerated to a search for 'how to kill myself at work and make it look like an accident because I cant take it anymore' and GoBot images.

Although I like the darker colors, for some reason I couldnt get used to the black background with the white text (black.ig-wilson.com if you have no clue what I am talking about). I started out with white but it was almost as bad and makes the thumbnails for the screenshots even darker than they already are so I changed it to a light grey...I relate it to the color of the concrete in most prison cells I have had the pleasure of frequenting (that is a joke by the way!!). I applied for a few more jobs today, I'm sure I have the same chance if getting one of those as I have all the rest that I haven't gotten. At least I have been using my time at work productively (hey, I could just be reading a book).

Gravedigger would be kind of nice also..at least you would be able to see what you have accomplished by the end of the day. My job is sort of the same if you take away the time I sit around and do nothing; as much as I dont like my job at least I know I have helped somebody fix some issue every now and then. I'm talking about digging graves the old fashioned way though, with a shovel, not a backhoe. If you have to have a license to operate heavy equipment then it isnt real grave digging. Mexico has some awesome graveyards, stuff that would fit right in in a vampire or zombie movie. I never got any good pictures since I usually was around them at night though looking for unused body parts just lying around. If I ever go back and dont get shot at the border by drug cartels the cemetaries will be the first stop in each city I pass through.

Yes I am doing fine thanks for asking (although I know nobody asked or really cares). I was thinking about becoming a pirate, all I would to give up would be half a leg and and eye and I would end up with a boatload of swag and booty and not have to work a normal job...not that my job is normal mind you, because if it were and everybody does what I do (which is largely nothing) then society would ground to a halt and we would all die horrible deaths. Not that that would be all bad actually. So pirate would be good. Politician is the only other profession close to a pirate where you get rich stealing from others and having a great time while doing it. Ask Bill, he knows all about swag and booty. So anyway I changed the layout of the site around a bit again from the overlap darkish pages (now at overlap.ig-wilson.com) to this 3 column slightly less dreary setup. If you don't like it go kill yourself, I don't care. I'll update some L2 pages in a while and maybe some family pictures if I get around to it after making my new pirate costume.

Ian W - 2008-09-30
So this is fairly obvious if you come here often (which I highly doubt), but I changed the site around a bit again...still messing with different CSS properties and learning how things work. If you don't like it, who cares. Since mostly all I update are the Lineage 2 and family pictures, I put back in the server status section, used an l2 background, and put the l2 pictures section back in the menu instead of forcing people to go to lineage2.ig-wilson.com to see pictures. Th auto assault pics I'll eventually put onto one page. Of course I made quite a few backend changes also which should help things out (removing tables in favor of css formatting...etc). It's always a work in progress. On a side note I did take and pass the 70-272 M$ exam, so I am now an MCDST certified loser instead of just an MCP loser (not to be confused with your average loser). It has been scientifically proven that each Microsoft exam taken raises your IQ by .0278 points...do not ask for my source on this fact!
